DRAFT OF PETITION No.1 - please note that the functionality of this page are still being finalised and therefore voting is not yet possible.
Dear Sir/Madam,
You are receiving this petition because at least 25,000 people recognise you as a person with influence - a person who, if determined to make a positive change in the world we live in, can do so by expressing your support for the cause listed below. Accordingly, we have come together as a result of our genuine concern for the well-being of our collective futures, to implore you to speak out on this issue and to respectfully ask you to add your voice to those of us calling out for change.
The undersigned subscribers are of the opinion that Companies around the world can be doing more to provide people who want to work with an opportunity to do so. We believe that in order for Companies to prove that they are good corporate citizens, they must dedicate more of their budgets to create fair and unbiased opportunities for employment AND demonstrate through truthful reporting on their websites and in the Press how they are doing this as well as what results their efforts are producing.
Finally, we believe that those Companies who feel that they can ignore this basic requirement of good corporate citizenry are not playing their role to improve the current state of the international economy and that the inter-dependence of Companies and the Regulatory Authorities (whose powers ultimately emanate from the people) should mean that un-cooperative Companies can and should be held to task for their actions or inaction.
For our part, we have collectively agreed to continue to watch the media at large in order to determine whether you and the respective Companies have taken our humble but important request on board - and we will act through our vote and with our pockets accordingly.
Faithfully,
The Undersigned
